The rice is nice

Well, as a guy I'm not much for kitchen gadgets, but I do like rice and seared tuna. This little rice cooker makes a perfect one or two cups of medium grain rice every time. Just put some seared tuna from the HyVee on top of that and I have a great dinner. One hint, don't sweat the clean up. Just let the aluminium pan soak with water in it, the rice at the bottom loosens up and it wipe right out. Don't scour or scrape or you ruin the anodized finish on the pan, I have an inexpensive rice paddle from a girl friend....Oh, I've found that the water level is a little low on the pan measure, but I don't presoak my rice the way some folks do, so I need the 2/1 water rice ratio....

This thing is a dream come true! It makes perfect rice every time!. The non-stick coating must be better than the older, larger models from what I have read in their reviews. Perfect for serving 1 to four. Far better than its rival. Cons: Doesn't really make 3.3 cups of uncooked rice. 2.3 is a better estimate. No steamer basket or "keep warm" function. The rice, does, however, stay nicely warm for up to two hours passively.

Its perfect for two or three people. Not too big, not too small. Its makes perfect rice, what more could you want. Just measure out one two or three cups of rice and fill with water to the appropriate line. Before I bought this I checked asian groceries thinking I'd be able to buy a rice maker cheap. What a shock that was, a similar one was $39 plus tax. I bought this one for $15 delivered.

Great Cooker, Great Price!

I searched all over for a great rice cooker, as I'm a newbie at this. I needed a good price, since I wasn't sure how well I'd catch on, and am not a gourmet. This worked out SO perfectly--I LOVE the non stick insides. It came with the paddle, but no steamer, but I wanted this for rice and I think you can buy the steamer if you need it, separately. The only things I would advise are when you make rice (I've only ever made full pots) use 2.5 cups of rice, but fill the water line to the 3 cup line after putting the rice in the pot, and RINSE RINSE RINSE the rice before cooking, no exception. These 2 things will give you perfect rice in about 30 minutes or so. It's a little less rice output than advertised, but it doesn't take long and again, it comes out perfectly. Great, great item!!
